| Information on Data Extraction |
|
Selecting data to extract from the warehouse is a multi step
process.
The first step requires the user to
specify one or more sites and the system retrieves a summary of the available
data. The user can then choose to
retrieve all data for a site or further refine the search based on either a
specific measurement type (for example Average Daily Flow or Discharge)
or group of measurements (for example, Nutrient) or a date range.
The final step is to specify when
individual measurements or aggregated measurements are required and or a
graphical summary of the information. The process is as detailed below. Geographic
Specification Through this page sites can be selected on the basis of: ·
The Catchment Management Authority (CMA) the site
belongs too ·
The AWRC Basin the site belongs too ·
The site code ·
The site name The scope can also be refined by restricting on sites
by their ·
Site Type (SurfaceWater, GroundWater, Marine) ·
Site Status (Active, Inactive, Decommissioned) The default behaviour for both Site Type and Site Status is ALL After specifying the geographic scope the system retrieves summary data and the user can
then either · Navigate to the Data
Extraction specification page by clicking the link in the Site
Name or Site Code columns. This page then enables
either a specific measurement type to be nominated a data range to be
specified and either individual, average, maximum or minimum readings to
be extracted for the nominated measurement(s).The defaults are to extract
the individual readings for all measurements for the entire period of
record.Note that this process may take a minute or so to
generate. · Navigate to the Data
Extraction specification page by clicking the link in the Measurement Type column. This page then
enables a data range to be specified and either individual, average,
maximum or minimum readings to be extracted for the
measurement. · Extract the entire
time series for a single measurement type for a selected site by clicking
on the link in the Number of records column Note that the maximum amount of data that can be extracted in a single request is all measurement types for the entire period of record for a single site. If data is required for more than one site then this process can be repeated. Alternatively a request for a CD can be lodged by using the Send Comments/Requests link on the home page.
